The Warning Signs
HEART CONDITIONS CAN AFFECT ALL AGE GROUPS, EVEN CHILDREN
- You faint or have a seizure during - PHYSICAL ACTIVITY - EMOTIONAL EXCITEMENT - DISTRESS - STARTLE - ON AROUSAL FROM SLEEP ( regularly)
- You have consistent or unusual - CHEST PAIN - ABNORMAL SHORTNESS OF BREATH - DIZZINESS DURING EXERCISE
- You have a family history of a premature sudden death of an apparently health person (under age 50)
YOU NEED TO:
- Speak with your GP about your symptoms
- Inform your GP of any medications or herbal remedies you are taking.
- Find out as much as you can about your family’s medical history.
- Inform your GP if there has been an unexpected premature sudden death (under age 50).
- Ask you GP to consider a heart condition when evaluating your symptoms and be referred to a cardiologist to have heart checks carried out.
