Sarah French, SADS UK Raising Awareness and Fundraising Manager says “SADS UK relies heavily on fundraising. With the economic climate being tricky and grant makers needing to stretch their limited resources across more charities, fundraising is more important than ever to help the charity in their aims to save lives.
Funds raised for SADS UK are crucial and liberate the charity to carry out important initiatives:
- Liaising with Government agencies to improve diagnosis and treatment of people affected by SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome)
- Raising awareness of SADS, sudden cardiac death
- Funding research into Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome and sudden cardiac arrest
- Funding defibrillators in schools and the community (Community Public Access Defibrillators, CPADs)
- Funding cardiac equipment for medicaL establishments
- Counselling and support for people affected by SADS or sudden cardiac arrest
“The energy and commitment of members and supporters is inspirational as they take on all sorts of fundraising events, from coffee mornings and cheese and wine evenings to families getting together to do the Big Fun Run or arranging a gig, charity night or a quiz at their local pub. Whether you prefer the adrenaline rush of a Skydive, the challenge of running a marathon, or a coffee morning with friends, SADS UK has a lot of fundraising ideas and events to suit all ages and abilities. From contributing a monthly donation to bequeathing a gift in your Will, there are so many ways you can help make a difference. Your pub, school or Rotary Club may also like to get involved.
